His guitar leads
the way - whether acoustic or electric. Mark, the master
of the clean guitar sound. His acoustic stylings are magical, and
when he fires up the tele…look out. Mark's musical creativity
expresses the sentiment of each song we play. A precision player and multi-instrumentalist, he can
trade places with Pete, or take over Andy's bass, as needed. While
we're at it, let's add lead and backing vocals to his credits. He is first and foremost
a guitar player, but he's also the glue that somehow manages to hold the
whole thing together. He does more for the band than can be listed
here - from booking, to running the sound board, to redirecting us
when we get sidetracked at practice, to working out the details and
keeping us organized - rarely getting the thanx he deserves for all
his tireless efforts. However, first and foremost he is our SBD
guitar god.
HIStory:
The Early Years (7th Grade)
¯Mark joins
a band as a bass player and they played a few school
dances.
¯This is
Mark's first experience "on stage."
The Early Years (High School)
¯Mark
starts playing guitar in a band called 'Triax' and is
playing in local clubs at 15 yrs old.
¯"The band
broke up in 1984 when I graduated and I sold all my
equipment. I didn’t touch a guitar for almost 6 years." |
Electric Blue '90
¯"In 1990 I
got a call from my future brother-in-law, Jim Feeney.
His band, Electric Blue (which also included Shelly
Krebs on vocals) needed a bass player to fill in for one
night."
¯Things
went so well, the band hired Mark as lead guitar player.
¯Electric
Blue gigged pretty regularly from 1990-1996 with a
variety of line-ups.
¯"When
things kind of fell apart we started doing some acoustic
gigs, and through a mutual friend I met Andy C."

The Remnants '01 - '02
¯Acoustic
Blue disbands. Shelly, Andy and Mark decide to stay
together and find some new people.
¯Andy
brings old friend John Kap to rehearsal and Mark "knew
right away we had something good going. When John
brought his old friend, Pete S., to join with us in
2002, the line-up was complete – 'Shelly and The
Barndogs'." |

"Mark had to have taken lessons from
Eric Clapton and hasn't told anyone! As a self taught musician, he
makes it looks so easy! Sometimes I really believe I could pick up a
guitar and rip a chord as sweet as he when I watch him play...He's
one of my oldest friends. His encouragement, advice, companionship
and volumes of information about the music industry keep me amazed."
